breathe

i want to take a photo of the air,
of this morning.
of the birds singing
somewhere in the leaves.

i want to capture the
faint sweetness,
hanging on the breeze
from blooms i cannot see.

what i have is you,
fluttering, paper thin, gentle,
soft lime as the sun
shines through you. 

and that is enough.

wowzers!

i was surprised that ALL of my beautiful peonies opened! they have been teasing me for so long...

then BOOM! Thank you, my pretties! 

{and a shout out to all the little ants who helped them open!)
